How health professionals can support us

If you are working in liver health we’d love to hear from you to see how we can work together to improve liver health in your area. There are many ways you can get involved at a national level too. Email to find out more.

Become a spokesperson

We always need Hepatologists and specialist Liver Nurses who are happy to talk to the media about liver related stories. We also take part in and run various campaigns throughout the year, which you could be involved in. Email to get involved.

Help coordinate support groups

Patients regularly contact us asking where their nearest support group is. Contact us to see how you could help set up a support group or refer your patients to an existing group, or how to encourage one of your patients to set up a support group. Our Regional Community Champions can help to coordinate groups in your area.

Media work

Have you recently solved a medical mystery or diagnosed an unusual case? Tigress productions are currently looking for TV-friendly medical professionals to contribute to a new medical documentary series exploring uncommon treatment journeys. Please call 0117 933 5654 / 0117 933 5611 or email: for more information.

Patients as media volunteers

The Trust is always interested to hear real life stories of those who have been affected by liver disease. It helps bring facts to life and enables us to raise more awareness. Please do put patients who are happy to be media volunteers in touch with us.

We have a free leaflet available for people who may be considering this, for hard copies please email or call 01425 481320.

Raise funds and awareness

Many health professionals support the charity by holding a Love Your Liver event or fundraising for us. From overseas treks to coffee mornings, however you’d like to raise funds will be very much appreciated. The support of nurses, doctors and consultants is vital for our work. Email to discuss fundraising for British Liver Trust, or to run a Love Your Liver event in your local area.
