There are many ways that people working in the healthcare sector can help the British Liver Trust with the ultimate benefit for people with liver disease.
The Trust is always in need of hepatologists and specialist nurses who feel able to talk to the media about various liver related stories. The Trust also takes part in and runs various campaigns throughout the year, which you could be involved in. The Trust places great value on the importance of raising awareness of liver disease.
Patients regularly contact the Trust asking where their nearest support group is. Support group coverage in the UK could be better and more people could be supported. Contact Emma Bowering, to see how you could help set up a support group or refer your patients to an existing group, or how to encourage one of you patients to set up a support group.
The Trust is always interested to hear real life stories of those who have experienced or been affected by liver disease. It helps bring facts to life and enables us to raise more awareness. You can help by putting forward willing patients as case studies for the Trust.
We do have a free leaflet available for potential case studies, for hard copies please email publications@britishlivertrust.org.uk or call 01425 481320.
The British Liver Trust is the only national charity for all forms of liver disease in adults; having contact with all hepatologists throughout the country is very important to us. We would like to be able to keep you informed of any liver related news and research, and to include you in our Directory of Liver Specialists which we are currently collating. We would also like you to share your knowledge with us! Please send your details to:

If none of the above rock your world, why don't you choose to donate to the British Liver Trust and help us fight liver disease! Or, why don't you follow in the footsteps of Consultant Hepatologist Mark Wright who ran the 2007 Flora Marathon.
Dr Mark Wright, from Southampton General Hospital, completed the staggering 26 mile marathon in four hours 25 minutes - in a liver costume!
