Kate Chattaway - ran 10 miles for the Trust

Kate Chattaway recently ran a 10 miles for the British Liver Trust.

Here she explains why:

"My name is Kate Chattaway and i recently ran 10 miles for the Liver Trust. i was worried about how long it would take me and if i was still fit enough but i knew i would give it my best shot. I ran with my husband Dave and close friend Ed. we often train together and were looking forward to the challenge.

I think the first couple of miles was the hardest - you start to question if you will make it all the way around. But i had my mum and my dad to wave me on at the 2nd mile and i knew i just had to keep going. the 9th mile was also very difficult, you know its only a short way home but your almost out of energy and your mind is playing all sorts of games. anyway we all made it - beating our personal bests. you cant beat that feeling of really challenging yourself and suceeding, you know that you haven't let your sponsors down.

We all decided to set the next challenge not long after the race and will be running a half marathon in March along with Ed's girlfriend Kate. I am hoping to raise much more for the Liver Trust.

I ran the race with my mum in mind. She had a liver transplant a couple of years ago and I have always wanted to raise money to support research and people who have had to go through similar things to what me and my family went through, even now it effects our lives. My mum is now fit and well and I am continually thankful for having her here with me. thank you to everyone who supports the work that the Trust do, it really is an extremely worthwhile cause."
