Give up alcohol for a year...
...is exactly what Louisa Fryer is doing to raise money for the British Liver Trust.
In her own words she explains why:
"I am giving up alcohol for a whole year as of the 1st May 2007.
Why? Because I have become disatisfied with the conditioning that I and this country is blindly giving in to every weekend or even just being in a pub to see friends. Everyone is drinking more and liver disease is on the increase.
After several years of being a social drinker I have suffered countless hangovers, not forgetting those shameful, cringing memories as they creep back into your awareness as the days begin to pass by. I wonder what its all about, then before I know it, I am back in the pub, sorting out rounds and getting drunk again!
What does a non-drinker who goes out socially think? What is their mindset, how do they do it? I am about to find out.
I am committed to exploring life as a non-drinker and will use mind tools such as hypnosis and nlp to assist me in building up inner resources to see me through the next 12 months without alcohol.
So please sponsor me now, and help to raise funds and awareness for the British Liver Trust, helping the nation to look after our livers! So that you can follow my progress I will be providing the Trust with monthly updates, these can be located on the news pages of the site.
Many thanks for your support.
Louisa"
