Completed research
Since 1993, when we funded our very first research award into Antigen presentation in HBV infection, we have funded 10 pieces of work across a range of subject areas and from basic science to clinical applications. The Trust has funded across many disciplines, including hepatology and epidemiology. We have funded researchers at the start of their careers as well as leading hepatologists.Previous research projects are detailed through the links below:2007The molecular basis of mucosal T cell homing to the liver in primary sclerosing cholangitisProfessor David Adams2006Optimisation of small interfering RNAs (SIRNA) targeted at the NF-kB pathway for the treatment of liver diseaseProfessor Derek Mann2005Development of novel diagnostic markers for bile duct cancerDr Stephen Pereira2003How stellate cells modify the local immune response of the liverDr A Holt2002The impact and burden of liver disease in the UKDr P Roderick/Professor W Rosenberg2000 Engineered forms of HGF/SF in chronic liver diseaseDr E GherardiCloning & Biochemical analysis of UTEBFDr D Mann1999Epidemiology of liver disease in Tayside studyDr JF Dillon1997Pathogenesis of Primary Biliary CirrhosisProf. J Neuberger1995TIMP 1 and FibrosisProf. Chris DayHepatocyte proliferation and apoptosisProf. JP Iredale1994Enhancement of tumour antigen display in primary liver cancer cells to stimulate cell-mediated immunity and tumour cell killingDoctor Phillip HarrisonAlcohol, inflammation and liver injuryDr Nick Sheron1993Antigen presentation in hepatitis B virusMiss S Shanmuganathan
