Clinical trials

A clinical trial is any research study that is likely to allocate human participants or groups of humans to one or more health-related interventions and assess the effects on health outcomes. An intervention may consist of drugs, cells and other biological products, surgical procedures, radiological procedures, devices, behavioural treatments, process of care changes, and preventive care.

Research into liver disease is developing very quickly. We want to provide helpful links to other websites which will help to guide patients, family members and carers to further information. Some of these links will also provide information about ongoing trials in liver disease and other areas of medicine.
