    Our medical helpline

Learning that you have liver disease can be an alarming experience. It can often mean facing a reduction in your quality of life and even your life expectancy. Our medical helpline receives many calls each year. We respond to all enquiries from patients, their family, friends, health professionals, and voluntary and statutory organisations.

When calling the Trust and explaining your query, you will be put through to either:

Our Medical Information Officer, Kate Birch who is a grade G nurse with 20 years experience and has a particular interest in hepatology.

    Or, our Patient Enquiry Officer,
Sarah Tattersall. She is trained to deal with all general enquiries related to liver disease.

More unusual queries are referred to our two volunteers - our Medical Director, Dr Paul Smith and Deputy Medical Director, Professor Tom Warnes. Their profiles can be found in the Medical Advisory Committee page.

Please do call us if you have any queries or worries relating to liver disease, we are more than happy to help and listen.

The free medical Helpline number is 0800 652 7330 and is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm.
