If you are a healthcare professional working in liver health we’d love to hear from you to discuss working together to improve liver health in your area. There are many ways to help at a national level too. Just some examples are below.

Promoting the British Liver Trust to your patients
Tell your patients about the support that the Trust can offer to them.
Our patient information guides, nurse-led helpline and network of support groups are all key sources of help and advice which can supplement your work.
Expert clinician group
The British Liver Trust expert clinician group helps the Trust in a variety of situations where professional expertise is required. Common activities of group members include:
- Speaking to the media or providing a quote for a Trust press release
- Drafting or reviewing content for our patient information leaflets
- Attending a local support group meeting to deliver a talk or Q&A session
- Attending a Love Your Liver roadshow event to provide clinical support
- Providing expert guidance on a specific liver health issue or question
Being part of the group is an excellent way to help the Trust in its work. You can specify activities that you are able to help with, and also let us know about your particular specialist areas within the field of liver disease.
Love Your Liver
We rely on the support of local clinicians when we tour the country on our Love Your Liver roadshow. You can also help by promoting and recommending our work to your patients, and making them aware of our information leaflets and helpline.
Raising awareness about liver disease
It is really important to have hepatologists and specialist liver nurses who are able to talk to the media about liver related stories. Your support for our campaigns could really help too.
Could you have a stand in your hospital to showcase our leaflets and materials?
Have you contacted local media to raise awareness of liver disease in your area?
Email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
Patients benefit from face to face peer support. We can help you set up a support group if there is not one local to you; we can give you details of your nearest group so your patients can access it, or we can support one of your patients to set up a group.
Patients as media volunteers
Real life experiences help bring media stories and statistics to life and raise awareness. Any patients who are happy to be media volunteers would be very welcome. Please put them in touch with us – they can call 01425 481320 or email email@example.com.
The support of healthcare professionals is vital for Love Your Liver and for fundraising. From coffee mornings to marathons, if you are able to raise funds for the Trust we would be very grateful.
