Our Love Your Liver Scotland roadshow in April included our first ever visits to Aberdeen and Dundee, as well as events in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The recently acquired British Liver Trust mobile screening unit made its debut on the tour, and the extra space on-board meant we were able to operate two FibroScan machines each day.
Across the four-day duration of the roadshow, 409 people took our liver health screener, with 391 of those being given a FibroScan to check their liver health. In total 58 people were advised to visit their GP for a follow-up and further tests.
As well as the direct impact of being able to screen and scan so many individuals, the roadshow raised awareness amongst the general public of how people can look after their liver health.
Many thanks to the clinicians and volunteers who gave their time to help us run the event – it was great to bring together so many of the people who play an important role in the work of the Trust in Scotland.
